Annual Business Travel Spend Rises to $1.3 Trillion in 2016

A new study conducted by Rockport Analytics and the Global Business Travel Association estimates global business travel spend hit $1.3 trillion in 2016. We expect spending growth to accelerate in to 2018. In fact, next year is projected to be the strongest year for business travel spending gains since 2014. The renewed optimism for business travel activity is being driven by an uptick in global trade, expected improvements in the manufacturing sector, economic improvements in emerging markets and shifting currency dynamics.
